Course Overview

The Cloud Security and Compliance course builds on the topics introduced in Cloud Computing and Software-as-a Service (SaaS). While the Cloud Computing and SaaS course approaches solution development from the perspective of an individual contributor, the Cloud Security and Compliance course approaches solution design from the perspective of IT or other professionals responsible for maintaining, enforcing, and auditing common policies and standards across an organisation. The course presents concepts and the technology required to enforce policies across applications, documents, and data created by others. The course will provide a hands-on opportunity for participants to explore different cloud computing platforms and services and to enhance the participant's proficiency and confidence in being able to manage and audit cloud-based resources to support specific needs within an organisation. This course will cover topics related to cloud security, privacy, and provisioning.

Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, an attendee will be able to:

• Configure an auditable Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution to solve common business problems
• Articulate the risks and risk mitigations related to providing end users with access to cloud-based resources
• Customise and deploy auditable solutions to a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) provider's platform to solve common business problems
• Customise and deploy auditable solutions to an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) provider's platform to solve common business problems
• Configure a centralised view of cloud-based resources consumed by multiple users
• Compare the auditing and security trade-offs between different public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud approaches to solving problems
