The prestigious May Day Awards were presented to a record high 92 individuals and companies this year during the May Day Dinner at Orchid Country Club, Grand Ballroom on Sunday, 29 April 2012.
These awards recognise the significant contributions of union leaders, companies and tripartite members to the Labour Movement through their promotion of good industrial relations, and support of various programmes and initiatives such as the re-employment of older workers, Job Re-creation Programme and workers' training, workfare and welfare.
A total of 1,400 guests were present at this event. Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Manpower and Minister for Finance was the Guest-of-Honour.
